At 22, I underwent surgery for a fibroadenoma. The doctor reassured me it was common with no known cause, yet in the quiet moments—getting dressed for work, reaching for my coat, or lying awake after a long day—I couldn’t stop wondering if the wires I’d worn for years had played a small part.
I know there’s no medical proof linking underwire bras to fibroadenomas, but that experience changed how I felt in my own skin. I grew tired of constantly adjusting straps, wincing by evening, and tolerating discomfort just to look polished. I realised I was compromising the one thing that should never be compromised: the way I felt in what touches me most intimately.
So I stopped accepting it. I spent years searching for—and eventually designing—wireless bras that offer beautiful support, shape, and lift without ever feeling like armour.
